Vvidget Builder User Manual

Inspector Editors > Effects

All graphics, including Basic Graphics and Data Graphics have an effects inspector editor that control that graphic's extended effects attributes. This section defines that inspector editor as shown in the following figure.

Although the table below describes some of the components of the effects inspector editor, the best way to understand each control is by using Vvidget Builder, making a graphic, and adjusting each control one at a time to see the affect it has on that graphic.

The control groups are defined here:

ExtrusionSome graphics implement an extrusion effect, which gives the graphic a pseudo 3D appearance. The effect varies from graphic to graphic and not all options are appropriate to the extrusion effect.
ShadowMost graphics implements a shadow which gives the appearance of a light source at a particular angle far from the graphic and a backdrop on which the shadow casts itself.
GradientMost graphics implements a gradient which is defined as a grading between two colors. Some gradients have parameters such as period and angle.
FlagsAntialias and segmentation stroke can be turned on or off. If each segment of a curve (also known as stroke) is drawn independently then segmentation stroke is on. This has the effect of all stroke attributes starting from their initial values for each segment, such as the dash pattern etc. Normally the segmentation stroke should be off.
